HERITAGE FIELD
IN THE HERMITAGE OF SANTA LUZIA
FROM JULY 29TH TO AUGUST 9TH | ALVITO | ALENTEJO
TRAINING
Present in many chapels and hermitages in the Alentejo, the fresco painting technique is one of the oldest forms of mural covering. The Heritage Field aims to focus not only on the intervention of the Hermitage of Santa Luzia de Alvito but also on providing the possibility of the Community access to this heritage that belongs to Everyone. With an open door for free visits, the field aims to contribute to the restoration of the frescoes and help in the conservation of this iconic space in the municipality of Alvito.
The camp will take place in a pioneering partnership between the Municipality of Alvito, the Professional School for the Recovery of the Heritage of Sintra and Spira - heritage revitalization, within the scope of the Rota do Fresco project, and with the institutional support of Património Cultural, IP / CCDR-A.
PARTICIPATION
This activity will allow EPRPS students to observe fresco conservation and restoration techniques in situ, learning the entire process and use of materials, having close contact with the preservation of local cultural heritage, guided by conservative restorers with more than 20 years of experience in mural painting.
INFORMATION AND TIMETABLE
