ARTS & CRAFTS IMMERSION
FORGE AND COOK ON FIRE
WITH TELMO ROQUE
MARCH 2ND TO 4TH
ABOUT THE ARTISAN
The craft of designer cutlery is the first child of the marriage of some of the pillars that define Telmo Roque.
With roots in the interior of Portugal where the forest kisses the Zêzere, driven by the urgent need to manage and cherish forestry and agricultural resources in the family for generations, all the wood used in the product comes from management and maintenance work, adding value to it.
An example of this is the use in a high-quality context of apparently low-value materials such as heather, broom or strawberry tree, as far as the forest is concerned, or olive, holm oak or lemon wood, on the agricultural side of the spectrum.
Because curiosity and always learning more is one of the most solid foundations of any structure, cutlery is the element that unifies the path of teaching and life, without waste.
Since childhood and youth, always involved in country and bush life, combined with qualifications in technical drawing, design and construction and experience in cooking around the world, everything finds a common thread in knives and forged metal, in the tool as an extension of the subject and work.
It is, quite simply, love on knives.
