Borda d'Água – A Ordem Natural das Coisas (Water's Edge – The Natural Order of Things) is a podcast by Spira Lab dedicated to the people, memories, and transformations of Vila Nova da Baronia, Alvito, and the surrounding territory. Through conversations with those who were born, grew up, and lived much of their lives here, we seek to preserve stories and experiences that help us understand the identity of the place, its ways of life, and the relationships built between people and the territory. A space for listening and sharing where individual memories intersect with collective history, revealing what has changed, what remains, and what is part of a community's identity.
Borda d'Água – The Natural Order of Things will have a new episode every month, continuing the exploration of the people, memories, and stories that bring Vila Nova da Baronia, Alvito, and the surrounding area to life.

EPISODE 1

Paula e Inácia
Neighbors in Vila Nova da Baronia, both born in the village and with extensive experience working in the fields.
In this conversation, Paula and Inácia recall a life marked by agricultural work, the difficulties of daily life, and the limitations of bygone eras. Amidst childhood memories, family rules, and work stories, they also share a longing for a time when daily interaction, mutual support, and close neighborly relationships forged deep bonds. A testament to the transformations of rural life, intergenerational relationships, and the emotional connection to the place where one is born and lives.
