Alvito is at the Belém Cultural Center , at the invitation of the exhibition 's curators.
“ TERRA CRUA ” and the ARQUITERRA project, conceived and developed by Spira.
Between In 2022 and 2024 , Spira carried out ARQUITERRA – a Local Sustainability Project through Creative Tourism and Volunteering , focused on the traditional construction techniques of the Alentejo region , with a particular emphasis on the rammed earth technique: Rammed earth workshops, production and documentary, a heritage education brochure, and video support adapted for children and young people were the actions undertaken over those two years, with funding from the PDR – Rural Development Program submitted to ADL – Associação Terras Dentro .
Now, between June and October 2026, the documentary: “TAIPA: Documentary about the know-how of Alentejo”, produced within the framework of this project and directed by the Barafunda Collective , also from Alvito, is an integral part of the exhibition “ Terra Crua” on display at the Belém Cultural Center in Lisbon.

The documentary follows the construction of a rammed earth wall, from the selection and preparation of the earth to the final result. This work was carried out as part of one of the workshops promoted by Spira, under the guidance of the architect specializing in this traditional construction technique, Miguel Ferreira Mendes. The documentary also includes testimonies from two residents of Alvito with experience in this form of construction: Luís Milho and José Francisco Maurício .
